First Development ​Capital Fund (FDCF)​

First Development Capital Fund (FDCF) is a social investment banking, financial literacy and risk management services fund.  In its development financial assistance program, it serves as a regional development capital fund for underserved communities and individuals engaged in small business, agribusiness, manufacturing, small and medium enterprise (SMEs) in rural and semi-rural areas, peri-urban areas in the Delta States (AL, LA and MS), and the Southern States (AL, GA, FL, SC), in the United States and selected overseas countries.

Its product and services are:
  • Small Input Revolving Loans
  • Direct Agricultural Support Grant Assistance
  • Micro-Lending (direct loan and guarantees)
  • SME Lending (direct loan and guarantees)
  • Start-up and Operating/Working Capital Loans
  • Seed Capital Loans for Business Development and Business Expansion
  • Women and Youth Poverty Alleviation Loans
  • Risk Management:  It currently partners with other agencies in providing insurance-based and non-insurance risk management services to small farmers, and small rural small businesses in the areas of production, marketing, financial, legal and operational risks.
 
It is currently working on certification as a development finance entity to
offer programs in:

  • Individual Development Accounts (IDA’s)
  • Angel Investment Financing
  • Small Business Lending (Mezzanine and Bridge Finance)
  • Saving and Credit (SACCO)
  • Country Endowment Development Funding.
  • Self-Insure Risk Management (SIRM)
  • New American Farmer Credit
  • Community Intermediate Re-lending
It currently partners with other agencies in providing non-insurance risk management services to small farmers, and small rural small businesses in the areas of production, marketing, financial, legal and operational risks.
