Jamaica Is Hurting and Our Community Is Being Called to Rise
Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica with merciless force, flooding homes, sweeping away entire communities, and leaving thousands of families displaced, hungry, traumatized, and unsure of what tomorrow holds. Parents are fighting to keep their children fed and safe. Elderly community members have lost access to basic care. Entire neighborhoods are sitting in darkness without electricity, clean water, or essential hygiene supplies. Right now, many are stranded with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Food shortages are escalating. Children are going to bed hungry. Mothers cannot access diapers, wipes, or formula. The emotional toll is deep. And yet, in the midst of devastation, one truth remains: together, we are stronger. Our NSI community is being activated. Families urgently need vital supplies to restore wellbeing and safety. Together, we can provide essential aid, from emergency kits to life-saving health support, helping parents care for their loved ones, and giving children a chance to recover and grow.
